I am a lawyer turned public health policy expert. I finished my graduation in law from MATS University Raipur after which for further studies I went to Tata Institute of Social Sciences to pursue my Master’s in law in Access to Justice. After my post-graduation in law, I worked in a fellowship of Access to Justice by TISS, Mumbai which was focused on working in tribal rights and labour law in Chhattisgarh. During my fellowship, I intensively travelled across the state of Chhattisgarh and conducted various legal aid camps and tried to understand the problems at the grassroots level. I found that there is a gap at the policy level which can be my area of interest to work upon especially in the health sector as it is subject to the state as per the constitution of India. Therefore I pursued a second Master’s in Public Health in Health Policy, Finance and Economics from the Tata Institute of social sciences..After my master’s I started working as a state consultant in National Health Mission Chhattisgarh in 2018 where my role was implementation, monitoring, capacity building and evaluation of the National viral Hepatitis control program in the state. After working for almost 4 years in Nationa Health Mission Chhattisgarh, especially during the covid-19 pandemic in the Covid command and control centre, I actively contributed my efforts in the management of testing verticle as well as the death audit committee of the state.

This fellowship will help me to imply my dynamic work experience and also educational knowledge in the field in various other multi- disciplinary thematic areas by working directly with district administration. Looking forward to blend my knowledge of the law, public health and social sciences for the betterment of the community through this fellowship.
