My aspirations as a child were not to become a doctor, an engineer, or an officer. I aspired to be a social worker from the early days of my life and envisioned a transformation in the remotest parts of rural India through my efforts.
Motivated by the idea of a changemaker during my college, I initiated a project in the slums of Delhi and worked in organizations like the National Service Scheme, Leaders for Tomorrow, and Unnati, with the sole intention of making an impact. Through this, I was able to comprehend my passion for serving the marginalized.
After completing my graduation studies, I pursued Gandhi Fellowship under the aegis of Piramal Foundation, for two years in a tribal block of Udaipur to explore the facets of rural India and understand the social sector more deeply.
After fellowship, I wanted to launch a project with children of brick kilns who couldn’t access education. In pursuit of this, I got in touch with Plustrust, which offered me fellowship and mentorship for the pilot.
In the pursuit of knowing more detail about the migrant community and understanding the structural challenges, I joined Center for Labour Research and Action, in the capacity of a district coordinator where I ensured effective implementation of the Aanganwadi centers and education centers in the brick kilns of Bhilwara.
I want to continue this voyage of transformation in society. I am sure that Public Policy in Action can be a milestone in this journey as this position will offer me an in-depth understanding of functioning at system level and contributing in the development of Aspirational districts.
