Ramesh Kumar has been a Public Policy and Management fellow at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore under MGNF, a joint program of IIM Bangalore and MSDE, Government of India. He has worked for two years with the District Magistrate office in Sonbhadra and later went to work with the Regional Directorate of Skill development & Entrepreneurship, Bihar, a state office of MSDE, GOI. Before that, he holds Post-Graduation in Politics and International Relations from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi and graduation from ST. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. He has also, been part of coveted Summer School Program in International1 Development at Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIMU) in collaboration with Duke University, USA. As part of six-week residential blended course of, classroom study and intensive field work, worked as a co-consultant in a 3 member Indo-US student team in Kumbhalgarh Block of Rajasthan. 

As, part of previous engagements, made multiple plans for Skill Development and livelihood generation, arranged meetings for monitoring and evaluation of ongoing training and navigated through multiple departments for delivering the goal of convergence. He has Prepared District Skill Development Plan, District Growth plan, Zila Pustakalaya revival project, conducting personality development and career counselling program with line departments etc. and provided inputs to district administration and RDSDE, Bihar.

As a development professional, he is enthusiastic about the Public Policy domain and it’s potential to impact people’s life for the betterment. As a Public Policy in Action fellow, he wants to engage further in the Public policy space at the implementation and design end and aspires to be instrumental in looking for solutions to pressing problems with a multi-pronged approach. He is looking forward to work closely with line departments under guidance of District collector to deliver the goals of convergence. In his free time, he loves to read non-fiction, listening podcasts, music and, solitary evening walk.
